Villa Azurra consists of three double bedrooms all with stunning lake views, and each with its own luxurious bathroom. There is a well equipped kitchen, (you get to cook looking at the view too), modern but carefully chosen to be in keeping with the rustic materials used in the villa, which include chestnut beams and reclaimed stone. In addition there is the loggia, the upper sitting/dining room with a small balcony, and also the lower sitting room – and yes, they all have lake views.

The villa was created on the site of a ruined outhouse in an old olive grove, recycling as many original materials as possible, and with a view to eco and bio credentials.

The garden retains many the natural characteristics of the original olive grove, including six gnarled old olive trees, some of the terracing and the wild flowers. It also includes the all-important infinity pool, with a shady terrace and grassy banks; plenty of tables, chairs and loungers endure that you can gather together for lunch, or find a peaceful nook for a snooze.

In the cooler months underfloor central heating is available, charged at cost per unit used. For the summer free-standing fans are available but rarely required because of the thick stone walls, which keep the rooms delightfully cool even in high summer. All windows and most doors have mosquito screens. Smoking is not allowed indoors, but ashtrays are provided in the garden. Solar panels provide most of the hot water.

All bed linen is provided, as well as hairdryers, bathroom and pool towels. The kitchen has all the equipment and basic cooking ingredients that you would hope for; in addition on your arrival there will be a welcome basket containing wine, water, fruit etc
